Canadian Car & Foundry PCC #4612

This page is dedicated to car #4612, this car is original to Toronto as car #4543. It is a Canadian Car & Foundry PCC streetcar built in 1951. This car was among one of over 700 PCC streetcars that operated (revenue service) in Toronto, ON during the years spanning from 1938 to 1995. #4543 was one of 19 cars rebuilt in 1990, at this point #4543 was renumbered #4612 and operated in revenue service till December of 1995. These were the last PCC cars to be withdrawn in Toronto. Two cars remained with Toronto Transit Commission for historic purposes, with original numbers being 4500 and 4545. Car 4543(R/N 4612) was donated to the ERRS from the TTC. The remaining cars went to various other heritage railway operations and museums across North America.
