Buses and Trains in Frankfurt

Welcome to the Frankfurt Buses and Traction photo gallery featuring the VGF, VU and Frankfurt Airport buses. The VGF operates as a partner of the (RMV) Rhein-Main Verkehrsverbund. The RMV is in charge of a larger area of Germany. Regular buses, many low floor buses, articulated buses, an extensive underground subway system and a light rail system (trams) are operated by the VGF in Frankfurt.

The fleet of the VGF in year 2000 consisted of 263 buses, 224 subway cars and 120 LRV‘s (or trams). This makes for a total of 607 vehicles in the VGF fleet. To see a full list of vehicles click here.

The Frankfurt Airport operates passenger shuttles with various sizes of buses and a Crew Bus. Judging by its name it would be for airport workers and aircraft crews.

Another company, the VU also operates regional transit service in to Frankfurt using route numbers in the 900's. Fleet Information on the VU is limited.
