Hong Kong LRT

Light rail transit in Hong Kong first opened to the public on September 25, 1988 in the northwest sector of the New Territories. Extensions have took place from then to now. The entire light rail system is part of Kowloon Canton Railway's operations in Greater Hong Kong. A total of 36.15 kilometres of track, 68 stations and 142 light rail vehicles (capacity 200 people) compose Hong Kong 's LRT system. The cars are unlike many cars used in North American systems because they feautre doors on one side and a distinctive front (cab end) and rear end (no cab). Fare payment works on an honour system with fares calculated based on passenger entry and exit point. Hong Kong's LRT operates mostly at grade and powered electric motors feed by overhead electric wires. In December of 2007, the merger of Hong Kong's two urban mass transit railway companies merged. These two companies were Kowloon Canton Railway Corporation and Mass Transit Railway, the merger resulted in all KCRC operations taking on the MTR name and logo.

The LRV's are from 3 seperate orders, all featuring similar looks and layout:
