Hong Kong MAN 24.310

The MAN 24.310 was first introduced to Hong Kong in 2000 when Citybus was to take delivery of 31 Berkhof bodied MAN 24.310's. However, Kowloon Motor Bus and New Lantau Bus ended up taking delivery of these buses. The reason was Citybus encountered some bus quota complications and could not take the 31 buses. Kowloon Motor Bus took 30 while New Lantau Bus took 1. Kowloon Motor Bus took delivery of 17 more MAN 24.310's in 2002, but they had Volgren bodies instead. All 48 of these buses are powered by MAN D2866 LOH engines with ZF 5HP590 transmissions. These buses comprise 48 of the 49 double deck MAN buses running in the public transit sector of Greater Hong Kong. The other bus is a 1997 MAN 24.350 that Citybus took delivery of.
