Pierce Transit Orion 05.501 CNG

Welcome to the Pierce Transit photo gallery. Pierce Transit provides local transit service to Pierce County, which is a part of the Puget Sound region. Regional transit service is also provided by Pierce Transit; however, the buses are owned by Sound Transit and are in Sound Transit livery. The Pierce Transit fleet (local service) includes about 200 buses, almost all of which are powered using Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). The fleet consists of New Flyer C30LF, C40LF, C40LFR and Orion 05.501 CNG buses.

By 2008, the last remaining Orion buses in the fleet were 15 1997 Orion 05.501 CNG buses, #828-842. They are powered by Cummins L10G engines with Allison B400R transmissions.
