1996 New Flyer F40LF
Welcome to the 1996 New Flyer F40LF for Coast Mountain Bus Company. 3 of these buses were delivered in early 1997 to then BC Transit to operate in Vancouver. These buses are powered by a Hydrogen Fuel Cell in a standard 40 foot low floor New Flyer chassis & body. The fuel cell was provided by Ballard Power Systems. The buses were numbered #7244, 7245 and 7246. The buses operated as New Flyer F40LF with their hydrogen fuel cells until June 2000. After being parked for several years, in 2004, #7244 and #7246 had diesel engines and batteries installed to create two diesel-electric powered buses that operated until 2012.
