TriMet Gillig Low Floor Photos

Welcome to the TriMet photo gallery. TriMet operates transit services in the Portland metropolitan area of the state of Oregon. An extensive 52 miles of light rail system with five termini, a commuter rail line, transit bus service and paratransit service are all part of TriMet's operations. In 2012, TriMet operated 79 bus routes with 625 transit buses in the fleet. There are 127 light rail vehicles (known as MAX). There is an extensive system of Park and Ride lots throughout the system as well.

TriMet announced in late 2011 that it would order 211 Gillig Low Floor buses to replace aging Flixble Metro and Gillig Phantom buses. In mid 2012, the first bus arrived (#3001), a further 50 is to be delivered by the end of 2012. These have the BRT style front end with the standard rear end. These are powered by Cummins ISL9 engines.
