Welcome to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority Photos (WMATA) photo gallery. The WMATA operates fixed route bus service, rapid transit trains (Metro) and paratransit services. Services are provided to the greater Washington DC area.

Below is a sample of what the WMATA operates, but by no means complete in covering the WMATA throughout it's history.

WMATA operates 272 New Flyer XDE40 which are diesel electric hybrid buses, most of which arepowered by Cummins ISL engines an Allison H40EP Hybrid drive. 52 of the units (7101-7152) are powered by Cummins ISB with BAE Hybridrive system. The buses were built between 2011-2013.
