York Region Transit and VIVA
Welcome to the York Region Transit-VIVA photo gallery. York Region Transit (YRT) was formed in 2001 as a result of a merger of the Richmond Hill Transit, Markham Transit, Newmarket Transit, Vaughan Transit. York Region Transit provides service to the York region including the municaplities of Aurora, East Gwillimbury, Georgina, King, Markham, Newmarket, Richmond Hill, Vaughan and Whitchurch-Stouffville. VIVA is a bus rapid transit system that began service in September of 2005, routes are identified using route colors instead of numbers and the service is operated exclusively by a fleet of Van Hool AG300 and A330 low floor buses. YRT is operated by contractors as opposed; however, all contractors operate the buses in accordance to the YRT system. For YRT roster infromation please click here.
