AC Transit 1991 Gillig Phantom 30' Photos

Welcome to the Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District, CA. (AC Transit) photo gallery for 1991 Gillig Phantom 30''. AC Transit took delivery of 61 30 foot Gillig Phantom' in 1991 and many buses in this order are still in service as of August 2006, but will be retired in a short time. These buses are powered by 6V92TA engines and have a front door wheelchair lift.

Gillig Phantom' that were part of the AC Transit fleet include 1982-1983 Gillig Phantom 35' (#2049-2099), 1983 Gillig Phantom 40' (#1300-1390), 1984-1985 Gillig Phantom 40' (#1400-1483), 1985 Gillig Phantom 40' (#1500-1549), 1990 Gillig Phantom 40' (#2601-2652), 1991 Gillig Phantom 30' (#2701-2761) and 1993 Gillig Phantom 40' (#2801-2860). All Gillig Phantoms have been retired or are soon to be retired. Of particular interest is 45 1993 Gillig Phantom' will be repowered and sold to SF MUNI to replace some of their 1988/1989 New Flyer D40's that still run on 6V92TA engines.
