In 1975 Calgary Transit took delivery of 82 T6H-5307N's, a number of these buses were retired in the early 1990's and mid 1990's. After 1997 there were around 20 units left, shortly before June 2003, there were 7 units left and at this time they were parked, leading to there retirement. This order had the Detroit Diesel 6V71N. 10 of these buses had Allison VS2-6 transmissions (844-853, AKA. hillclimbers), the other 72 had the Allison VH9, these were the last buses for Calgary Transit to have the VH9 transmission.

816 | 816 (now retired) heads north on Centre Street near Blackthorne Road nearing it's destination Sandstone on a snowy day. Route 3 is one of the longest and busiest routes CTS operates. 816 is close to the most northenly point (Sandstone Terminal). The south point is all the way near Fish Creek/Lacombe LRT at Fish Creek Park. A full trip take s about one hour and 20 minutes of which is all through city streets (no highways).
