Calgary Transit Yaxing Vicinity JS6840GHP Demo
Welcome to the photo gallery for the Yaxing demo bus for Calgary Transit. This bus started it's life with BC Transit in the town of Squamish in early 2010 just prior to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. After spending several years in the BC Transit fleet the bus was briefly demoed with Translink/Coast Mountain Bus Company. In September and October of 2012, the bus spent time with Calgary Transit as part of the community shuttle fleet for demonstration purposes. The bus is built by Yaxing in China in conjunction with a B.C. based company called Grande West Transportation. As a result it has numerous North American components not often found on domestic Chinese buses. For example it uses a Cummins ISB engine with a ZF transmission and has extra exterior lighting. Below are photos of the bus during it's time with Calgary Transit. The fleet number V2012 was given when Translink breifly operated this bus prior to Calgary Transit. The original number on this bus is #7130 and the bus carries the BC Transit livery.
