Edmonton Transit Service Proterra Catalyst BE40 E2 Max (ZX5)

Welcome to the Proterra Catalyst BE40 E2 Max (ZX5) photo gallery. Edmonton Transit took delivery of fourty of these buses in 2020. They are the first fleet of battery powered electric buses to enter service in Alberta. These buses utilize technology and battery capacity that allows the buses to work a full days of service. The buses entered service in August of 2020 in limited numbers with more buses following throughout the remainder of the year. Charging technology was built at both the new Kathleen Andrew and Centennial bus garages. The buses are numbered #8000-#8039.
