Mississauga Transit Orion 05.501

Welcome to the Mississauga Transit Orion 05.501 photo gallery. From 1989-1993 and 1997 Mississauga Transit took delivery of a total of 141 Orion 05.501 buses. The only buses expected to still be in service for at least several years to come are the 35 1997 models; meanwhile, the earlier buses are being phased out. The buses built from 1989-1993 are powered by Cummins L10 engines with Voith D863.3 transmissions. Meanwhile, the 1997 buses, which were originally built for WMATA for Washington, DC are powered by a Detroit Diesel Series 50 engine with an Allison B400R5 transmission.
