Orion VII Demo

One of Orion's demo buses made it's way to Calgary in mid-August 2003. This unit was the Orion VII Diesel demo unit. Orion, at the time, also had demo units with CNG powertrain and a hybrid electric model. The hybrid electric model did make a stop in Edmonton earlier that summer, however it continued onto B.C. after that. The diesel unit was not used in revenue service with Calgary Transit. However it was with Calgary Transit for 1 to 2 weeks for staff to take a look at. This unit was likely built in Orion's US plant in Oriskany, NY as it had a New York state license plate.
