1992 TriMet flixible Metro Photos (#1817-#1843)

Welcome to the TriMet photo gallery. TriMet operates transit services in the Portland metropolitan area of the state of Oregon. An extensive 52 miles of light rail system with five termini, a commuter rail line, transit bus service and paratransit service are all part of TriMet's operations. In 2012, TriMet operated 79 bus routes with 625 transit buses in the fleet. There are 127 light rail vehicles (known as MAX). There is an extensive system of Park and Ride lots throughout the system as well.

TriMet first took delivery of flixible Metro buses in 1988 with 50 buses (#500-549). The following year 88 more buses were delivered (#550-637). In 1992, 108 more buses were delivered (#1701-1808). As well 10 30 foot Metros were delivered in 1992 (#1901-1910). The 1988, 1989 and 1992 orders were all delivered with Cummins L10 engines. In 1993, 8 LNG powered Flxible Metro (#1809-1816) buses were delivered using Cummins L10G engines. In 1994 two final orders were delivered. The first order of 27 (#1817-1843) were powered by Cummins L10 engines. The second order was for 10 units (#1844-1853), these were powered by Detroit Diesel Series 50 egnines.In total, 301 flixible Metro buses have operated for TriMet, making it one of the largest operators of Flxible Metro buses. As of 2012, most of the 1992 and 1994 model buses were still in active service.
