Toronto Transit Commission Orion VII NG HEV #1200-#1423/#1500-#1689/#1700-#1829

Welcome to the Toronto Transit Commission photo gallery. Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) ordered 544 Orion VII NG HEV buses from Orion Bus Industries for delivery in 2007, 2008 and 2009. These are Orion 07.501 NG (VII) HEV models, the first to be delivered to a Canadian operator. The Orion VII NG HEV is a cosmetically upgraded Orion VII HEV. They are powered by Cummins ISB engines with a hybrid electric drive from BAE Systems configured in a series setup. The first 414 use lead-acid batteries which proved to be unreliable. The last 130 buses delivered in 2009 came with lithium ion batterues. For more roster infromation please click here.
