ETS New Flyer E40LFR Test Bus Photos

Welcome to the E40LFR gallery. In June of 2007, Coast Mountain Bus Company/Translink (CMBC, Vancouver) bus #2242 arrived in Edmonton. The bus is a New Flyer/Kiepe Electric E40LFR electric trolley bus that has been loaned to the Edmonton Transit System for a one year evaluation period. The evaluation is designed to concide with the 6 diesel-electric hybrid buses ETS purchased from New Flyer Industries and Orion Bus Industries.

#2242 was renumbered to #6000 upon entering testing and later revenue service. The bus first entered revenue service in September 2007 working usually the Route 5. The bus carries the Translink "Sweep R" livery and logos; however, ETS logos have been applied as well. The front bumper of #6000 has been changed to the style used on Edmonton's diesel and hybrid New Flyer LFR buses.

#6000 is doing well as it is pleasing both drivers and passengers with its low floor capability, in addition to its off-wire capability.
